About This Visit

As part of the CodingHQ Campus Tour initiative, we had the opportunity to visit Lycée Bilingue de Bojongo for an on-campus tech engagement focused on introducing students to the foundations of programming. The session brought together 50 students, many of whom were encountering practical programming for the first time. The objective of the visit was simple and deliberate: to move students beyond abstract ideas about “tech” and give them a hands-on introduction to how the programming actually works. During the session, students were introduced to the basics of C, the core building block of programming. Rather than relying on theory alone, the session was structured to be practical: Students learned how C work They wrote basic code themselves They created their first simple program They viewed their results directly For many students, that moment—typing code and immediately seeing it come to life—was a key turning point in the session. Student Engagement and Curiosity The level of engagement throughout the session stood out. Students asked questions, experimented with their code, and showed genuine curiosity about how Softwares are built and how developers work in real-world environments. Beyond C itself, discussions extended to: What developers actually do How Softwares are built over time The different paths students can take to develop practical tech skills alongside their academic studies The atmosphere in the room reflected a growing awareness that technology is not just something to consume, but something they can actively build. Why These Visits Matter This visit reinforced the importance of early, practical exposure to technology—especially for students who may not otherwise have access to hands-on coding experiences. By introducing programming in a clear and approachable way, students are able to better understand what is possible and what skills are required to pursue careers in technology. The session at Lycée Bilingue de Bojongo represents exactly what the CodingHQ Campus Tour aims to achieve: practical exposure, clarity, and informed interest, rather than vague motivation. Looking Ahead CodingHQ remains committed to working with schools to provide students with meaningful introductions to technology and software development. Visits like this help lay the foundation for future learning, whether students choose to continue through CodingHQ programs or explore other tech pathways. We appreciate the openness and collaboration of Lycée Bilingue de Bojongo and look forward to engaging with more institutions as the Campus Tour continues.
